Another great event this weekend - The Bugs Mural launch party. Irena Halder has designed and painted giant insects on a previously plain wall making a fantastic focal point for the garden.

Look how happy we all are!

Just got back from the second of our winter Green Club programme - Wild Gardening led by Tim Rees.

Another great evening with hot cider and chilli maple syrup courtesy of Brian, and Tock kicking off by showing us all the wonderful chillies she'd been growing.

Tim then gave us handouts on how to build a bat-house to encourage bats (beside being really interesting and the only flying mammals, they are great pest exterminators). We also looked at ways of building habitats for insects, bumble bees and generally encour...

Spotted in Challenge Close as I was leaving the garden yesterday. I think it's a Wagtail.

Had a great meeting today with Tim Rees, Gabriel Parfitt and Paul Bragman, a community development adviser. We thought about what Harlesden residents really want from the garden and how they can get involved, particularly in the Green Club.

So far future plans include:

  • Day trips and outings

  • A new club-house

Have you got any ideas of what you would...

I am not a food writer, but as eating is something we do more than most things, food tends to be a large part of our lives.  As a mother of four boys who LOVE food but can sometimes be picky re veg, it has always been important that the veg I do feed them encourages them to want more!

I threw a little something together with a couple of allotment bed ingredients that were easy to grow, added a spoon of organic coconut oil, first time using, the result was so good I had to share!  Did I mention that it's Vegan too!...
